With the development of electronic products to high density and high precision, the same requirements are put forward for circuit boards. The most effective way to increase the density of PCB is to reduce the number of through holes, and accurately set blind holes and bury holes.

Production and Manufacture of Eight-Layer Blind Hole PCB Circuit Board

The manufacturing method of buried-hole PCB is the same as that of common double-sided PCB.

How much do you know about the micro-blind holes of the 8-layer PCB Board?

1. For blind through holes with the ratio of thickness to diameter less than 0.8 in eight-layer PCB board, the reliability of electrical connection between layers can be guaranteed by conventional copper plating method. Copper plating with high dispersibility has a certain improvement over conventional copper plating. Pulse current copper plating will have better deep plating ability. The thickness-diameter ratio of blind holes can be extended to more than one time (thickness-diameter ratio is greater than 1.6), and the reliability of electrical connection between eight-layer PCB circuit boards can be guaranteed.

However, at present, the thickness of the dielectric layer in the laminated part of the eight-layer PCB board is mostly controlled between 40um and 80um, and the aperture of the blind hole is mostly between 80um and 150um. Therefore, conventional hole metallization and acid copper plating can meet the requirements of the circuit board manufacturers.

When the aperture of blind hole tends to be 50um or less, on the one hand, thin dielectric layer thickness can be used to achieve the purpose, on the other hand, pulse copper plating can be used to solve the problem. As for the eight-layer PCB processing factories with pulse plating facilities, generally speaking, there is no such problem.

2. When the electrical connection between layers is realized by the through-hole (or blind-hole) in the eight-layer PCB board, most of them are finished by electroless copper plating or direct plating. In the aspect of copper plating, there are the following rules:

2.1 For PCB micro-through holes with thickness-diameter ratio less than 0.88, good reliable interlayer electrical connection can be obtained under various plating conditions.

2.2 Pulse current plating has the best reliability of electrical connection between PCB boards. The thickness-diameter ratio of blind hole plating on PCB boards can be extended to more than 1.6.

2.3 In order of reliability or deep plating ability of electrical connection between layers, pulse plating with high dispersing ability can be used for conventional plating.

2.4 The whole board plating of 8-layer PCB board will be superior to graphic plating.
